OUR STORY
81 Designs was founded by Nadine Y Maalouf and Nesrine El Tibi Maalouf. This social enterprise empowers women artisans through design and art, focusing on building their skills and confidence. In collaboration with artists from the MENA region, 81 Designs serves as a platform for refugee, displaced, and low-income female artisans specializing in tatreez, carpentry, leatherwork, stonework, metalwork, painting, pottery, sculpture, and weaving.
WHAT WE DO
We are a social enterprise dedicated to providing capacity building and employment for refugee, displaced, and low-income female artisans. We focus on reviving artisan skills among these women, offering training, equipment, and emotional support to help them find a renewed sense of purpose in life. Our goal is to preserve traditional techniques while using them to create modern designs
